OBJECTIVES

Evolution Events came to us with the brand new concept of “open up” asking us to design them a stage that will take the attendees through a portal of visual experience throughout the event…and that’s exactly what we did.

We aimed to create a complete custom set with a visual experience to match, engaging custom video content creators and set builders to put together what would be the “Open Up Portal”.

We engaged our set designers G-Wiz to work on the concept and create the set design & set build.

The set we created had to be modular enough to assemble onsite in an 8 hour build & test. We knew the design of this was imperative to being able to have the set ready for the show.

We created 3 modular pieces that were constructed onsite but pre-fabricated before the build.

Video mapping was a main component of our stage, we had 3 x 8500 Lumen laser projectors running three separate sources to display the custom video content throughout the different DJ sets on the night.

OUTCOME

The build went very smoothly only running into a few errors with video signal flow which were easily resolved with a few computer troubleshooting fiddles. As time was against us we managed to have the set build complete by 3pm which allowed us 2 hours to video map and run a test of the show files.

As the punters were arriving we had just enough time to finish our tests and have the show in preset for the first act! The event went off without a hitch with attendees being mesmerized by the production.
